The college bowl season is here; a time of year that many will say is the most wonderful time of the year. 35 bowl games in just under four weeks featuring all of the top names in college football (unless they got busted for cheating). Unlike college basketball at this level, 35 different teams will get a chance to end their season with a win and head into the postseason and recruiting on a high note.
The 2012 bowl season began on December 15th with Arizona topping Nevada in a shootout in the New Mexico Bowl and includes non-traditional games like the Independence Bowl featuring the Ohio Bobcats facing Louisiana-Monroe. It concludes on January 7th with the BCS Championship Game featuring #1 Notre Dame and #2 Alabama. While the bowl schedule is busy on Saturday, December 29th with five games and four games on New Year's Eve, the six-game slate for New Year's Day, which includes the Rose Bowl and Orange Bowl, is the most on any date in the 2012-2013 bowl season.
