It is important to remember that when you discipline your children that you do it in a way that they know you still love them. This is important because you never want to show anger in your discipline. The goal is not to cause fear, but to teach a lesson.

When giving out treats to your children, make sure that these treats are similar. Children get jealous very easily. When they compare, they often feel like their sibling is getting the better treat. If you make the treats the same, or as similar as possible, this should prevent most arguments.

If your child is constantly rubbing his eyes, it could be a sign of pinkeye. If you notice unusual discharge or a red color in the eye, take your child to the doctor right away. Pinkeye is highly contagious and is spread easily through touch. Have him wash his hands often and don't let other children share his food or toys while contagious.

Make sure you establish mutual trust with your kids. If you want to be able to trust your children, they need to know they can trust you as well. If you're constantly making empty promises or lying to them, they'll pick up these habits. If you're open and honest with them, they'll do the same with you.

Start your child's education as early as possible. Even when a kid is little, there are tons of games you can play with them that make learning fun. You can find games to teach them math, science, reading, spelling, etc. It's never too early to start your child's education, and if you make it fun, you'll make them want to keep learning.

Whenever possible, give your young child an opportunity to choose something. For example, give him two choices of a vegetable for dinner. When he makes a choice, he is less likely to complain about it. Offering your child choices will give him a sense of control and empowerment over his own little world.

Be sure to start teaching children that they can count on you from an early age. when they are young they will naturally trust you, but as they grow into teenagers you want them to think of you as a respected ally, not a feared dictator. It is better to get them to understand things than to demand their obedience.

Do not be afraid to say yes to your child now and then. If they are not going to be in any danger or getting into trouble doing the things that they are asking of you, let them do it. You are going to make a difference by allowing him some of the freedom that he seeks.

A great parenting tip is to ask your child to help out with cleaning. They'll start to develop an appreciation for cleaning and they'll also have an opportunity to bond with you. Try making cleaning fun as opposed to a dreaded chore that no one ever wants to do.

Respect your child's privacy. This is especially important in the teen years. If your child knows that you respect them, they will be more likely to come to you with problems. A child also needs to feel a sense of security in knowing that some matters don't have to be shared.

In summary, this is some of the best advice that you can get when it comes to parenting. Please realize that while this advice may work for you and many people, you still need to make sure that you are doing what is best for your own family, and that takes time and patience.
