In 2006 the sports brand Adidas and the tire fabricator Goodyear came to an understanding. They now work together on the development of a new shoe line called: The Adi Racer.
The Adi Racer is a sports sneaker made from leather and is available in a variety of colors and models. The sole, named EVA-sole, is a fusion between the technology and design of Goodyear and Adidas. The sole is developed to provide support and comfort. The design of the sole was inspired by the award-winning Goodyear Eagle F1. The Eagle F1 is a champion on the Ultra High Performance tire made by Goodyear. The design of the sneaker itself was based on the classic rally cars and the racing shoes that came with them. In short: The Adi Racer is the perfect combination between the racing world and the comfort of the modern sneaker.
Goodyear as a company
The two companies can get along very well and both companies are known for their innovative approach to business, life and design. Just like Adidas, Goodyear is a pioneer when it comes to its area of expertise. Goodyear developed tires for the first vehicle on the moon. On top of that their tires were responsible for helping to break the speed record of one thousand kilometres per hour in the Nevada desert. Next to that the Goodyear tires or Goodyear autobanden shine when it comes to 'RunOnFlat's. Thanks to the tire technology of Goodyear they have made it possible to keep on driving when you get a flat tire. Finally, Goodyear was one of the first to use RFID technology that is used for the Nascar racing tires.
The Goodyear sneakers of Adidas
The Goodyear sneakers have been developed for a wide audience and can be worn by either women or men. They exist in different models and are available in different styles. You can choose between laces or Velcro, a variety of colors and bi-color. The sneaker is mostly known for it's lowered, but sturdy heel. This sole composition makes sure that the foot has more support. The shoes are available in European sizes 35 to 48 and you can find them in most shoe stores and sports stores. The price of the shoes depends on the model, but the average price will be around 100 euros.
The newest member of the Goodyear sneaker family is the Adidas Goodyear Driver. This sneaker has a rather flat shape and is fitted with perfectly placed overlays. The outstanding shape of the heel is a nice feature of this model. The shape of the heel provides a cushion and stability. The typical vulcanized sole, equipped with Goodyear tire or Goodyear banden technology, doesn't just look trendy, but also provides the shoe with extra grip and benefits on many levels.
The sneaker is made from suede and an imitated grain leather, and they are developed to guarantee a long life-span of the shoe.
