I'm not going to lie to you. There is a very good chance that you really don't deserve to get your ex girlfriend back. No matter how much you want to win her over and get back together with her, there are many reasons why you shouldn't or won't get her back. While other relationship experts might tell you that you can get her back without a doubt, I don't want to give you false hope.
First, if you hurt her either emotionally or physically then you should think twice about your intentions of winning her back. Whether you lost your cool or you made some sort of mistake, there is a chance that you deserved to be dumped. I'm sure that if this is the case then you have thought of this already and you might be filled with a lot of regret. If the breakup is still rather fresh and you this is the situation you need to check yourself and evaluate why you want to get back together with your ex. Are you being selfish or do you truly love her? Are you willing to go to extremes to change including getting some professional help? How can you be sure that the same thing won't happen again? These are all very valid questions that you need to answer for yourself.
There is hope for you if the reasons why your girlfriend or wife left you were valid. I do encourage you to make right that which was wrong in you and your relationship but don't expect your ex to trust you or believe you quite as quickly as you might like. Try to look at things from her perspective and realize that trust is something that often takes a long time to build but if you truly love her then you will be patient with her.
Secondly, if the above doesn't describe you at all and you were dumped for some sort of lame excuse such as the old "I love you but I'm not in love with you anymore" then there is also a chance that you don't deserve to have her back in your life again. If she has moved on and you're feeling like garbage about yourself and you feel somehow unworthy of her love or a relationship with her then you might be right.
Let me explain. If you are being your own worst enemy and you think that you don't deserve to have her fall in love with you again then you're probably right. If you have found yourself begging and pleading for a second chance or if you're settling for being friends with your ex because you think that this is all you deserve or all that you are going to get in a relationship with her then this is where you will stay. You will be her friend and you will get to enjoy a lifetime of hearing about the guys that she is dating and sleeping with. You'll get to be the one to make her feel better about herself when her new boyfriend treats her like garbage and you'll be rewarded with kudos from her for helping her to get back together with the guy that is sleeping with your girlfriend.
If this describes you then there is also hope for you yet but it's also going to take some changes in yourself and your attitude. It's time to man up and get your self confidence back. It's time to start believing in yourself. The past is in the past and you have to believe that you deserve to win her back no matter what the circumstances are of your breakup. If she's with someone else, you're better than him. You love her more than he does and you want to care for her and protect her. Be a man and stop being so emotional about this. Put your own hurt feelings aside and think about her. Start doing the things that are going to win her back and start moving in a more positive direction. Start making her feel those good feelings that make her proud of you and make her want to be with you again instead of having her feel sorry for you.
The fact is that if you want to get your ex girlfriend or your ex wife back you need to start thinking logically. You need to understand what makes a woman fall in love with a guy and what makes a woman not want to be with a guy. Understanding how women think and feel is your first step towards getting back together with the woman you love. One of you has to be the man in the relationship and you were born a guy so start acting like a guy. Be confident and secure in yourself, your ability to make her fall in love with you again and you can and will get her back.
