A chain link fence could be your best option when it comes to both security and privacy.
We’ve all known that it’s the best for security but how can a chain link fence be the best option for privacy?
Too starts with you’ve got the option of being able to add in privacy slats. These slats do add in a good bit of privacy but once you’ve gotten the fence and the slats in place you then add in a hedge. The right hedge and you can create something you can’t get though.
As a matter of fact done correctly the hedge hides the chain link fence all together. So now you’ve got a six foot Miami Fl. chain link fences hidden inside a six foot hedge.
You have to admit that when the chain link fence can no longer be seen that it must be some pretty awesome privacy.
But what about a chain link fence and a hedge for security?
Well let’s say a guy decided to break into your house.
He has the first problem of trying to get through a thorn hedge and about half way through the hedge he has the added surprise of a chain link fence. If he didn’t bring the right equipment it might mean a ride back to his house to pick up the required tools or a trip to the hardware store. But then I don’t think thieves normally buy tools, they most likely steal them.
Now I don’t know how many thieves would return to finish the job once they were unable to complete it the first time around. So once he left the backyard even if it was to go steal the tools from the neighbor it would be a pretty sure beat that he wouldn’t return.
But let’s say he tried to climb over. Well if you’ve got a 7 foot hedge hiding a roll of razor wire, then this thief is really going to have a bad day. He’ll most likely be calling 911 himself.
If the razor wire is a bit much then getting tangled up in a thorn bush with barb-wire could also get you to screaming out for help.
Now if he’s got the tools to cut the wire then you could cause him to have to upgrade his tools by going with a 9 gage wire rather than the standard 11 1/2 gage chain link fence wire.
Either way he’s going to have a hard time cutting the fence wire while working inside the hedge bush.
Once he’s gotten inside the property the thief is now hidden by the same hedge bush that was once protecting you from him. While the damage to the hedge bush may or may not be visible the thief is no longer visible. Of course with the Internet and all the cameras we have at our disposable you could stream video but then you are giving up some of your privacy for the video.
And you also give the thief a system to hack into.
I’d say that behind the chain link fence that sits in the center of a hedge bush there should (at the very least) be a home owner with a gun.
Although a lion would be beautiful awesome as well either way I hope this article has at the very least given you a new way of thinking about fences.
