1. Craigslist.org: Craigslist.org is the one that started it all. Well, maybe not really, but it sure seems that everyone has heard about them. You can sell just about anything on Criagslist.org and you can almost 100 percent of the time do it for free. Craigslist.org is broken down into different countries and then by different states. They take it a step further and even break down each state into a region, like South Florida for example. Craigslist.org also breaks down what is for sale by category. The site is free to join and for the exception of a few items that they do charge for, you can post as many free classified ads as you want to.
2. Webleeg.com: This one is a bit trickier to find as the name Webleeg.com is not what comes up in the address bar, but instead it is the name webclassifieds.us, however typing in webleeds.com will get you there too. That being said, the site is also broken down by category and offers you a free account so that you too can post free classified ads for just about anything. A unique feature with this site is that they have a quick search link on the front page of the site where you type in a keyword for an item, such as stereo or radio, your state, and finally a city if you desire and they do the rest. Anything that matches your keywords in your state and city will be brought up for you to look at.
3. 50statesclassifieds.com: As you can probably see by the name, 50statesclassifieds covers all 50 states in the United States. It is also free to join and free to post your classified ads and this site, like the others is also extremely user friendly. Right on the home page you will find a variety of ways in which you can search for specific items you may be after. You can look by state, city, or even do a quick search at the top of the home page.
While the classic style of advertising your items for sale in the newspaper may have do an effective job locally, the days of that type of classified advertising are over. Why stick to one specific region and pay for it to boot? With the advent of the Internet, online classified ads are here to stay and the three free online advertising sites highlighted are a great example of why.
