In many of my articles I speak about the commands of Jesus. I have found he had at least fifty so here is a list of them in an original list my mother typed up for your reference. There are many benefits to obeying Jesus.
The fifty commands of Jesus
1 Don t call Jesus Lord when you don t obey Him. Lk 6:46, Mt 7:21.
There are many that call Jesus Lord Lord and who do not obey Him like he is boss. Many think Jesus is simply a savior and do not know Him as a Master. I would be very happy if the church began to obey Jesus. If I was going to speak a prophetic word to the church in 2010 I would ask that they begin to obey Jesus and not just pay lip service.
2 Build on the rock of obedience to Jesus otherwise you will fall. Mt 7:24 27, Lk 6:47 49.
Jesus said that those that heard what He had to say and DID what He said to do ware the wise builders who build on the rock. He said also that those that heard what He had to say and IGNORED His commands where those who built on the sand. A great storm is coming and many people in the church are not going to stand as they have not been building on the rock, but on the sand.
3 Worship God alone. Mt 4:10b, Lk 4:8.
Speaking prophetically I have to say people even worship worship these days. If I asked God to remove His presence and anointing when people worship, I would see most people stop doing it. It seems people love to worship God and than go on and disobey Him all week. If I want to see something this year, I want to see true worshippers who worship in spirit and truth.
I see a lot of people that claim to love Jesus but few people like Him that gave up all He had for us. People like to own everything and have all their relationships and God also. I would prophetically pronounce that the world needs to let go this year and make their bodies a living sacrifice.
5 Be salt and light to this world. Mt 5:13 16 Mk 9:50, Lk 11:33, 14:34. Jn 3:21.
We need to be set apart and a seasoning for the darkness in the world and not be part of it. The church need to come out of Babylon and Capitalism this year.
6 Don t call your brother a fool. Mt 5:22, 12:36.
The church needs to be united as a team across denomination and stop fighting over silly differences in doctrines.
7 Practice instant reconciliation. Mt 5:24 25.
We need to forgive. In times coming we may need our enemies to eat. The church needs to have all the friends it can. Time is short.
8 Do not look with lust at another this is adultery in the heart. Mt 5:27 28.
We have to get on top of this.

10 Don t swear an oath. Mt 5:33 37
Jesus said let your yes be yes and no be no. There are too many contracts even in the church. This has to stop. God is going to break contracts this year and people will have to honor them anyway.
11 Do more than expected, go the 2nd mile. Mt 5:38 41.
The Romans during their occupation used to be able to command a Jewish citizen to carry a load for a mile. Jesus says when we are forced to do something we should do twice what is expected. Times are going to get tough soon for the church, we need to obey Jesus in this to live.
12 Give to those that ask. Mt 5:42, Lk 6:30, 38
For too many years Christians have been denying money to the poor when they beg. There is coming a time when the church will have to beg. The shoe is going to be on the other foot soon. This year prophetically I tell the church to start to sow for their future and give to the beggars who ask.
13 Love, bless and pray for your enemies. Mt 5:43 48, Lk 6:27 29.
There is not enough time to have enemies.
14 Quietly do good for God s praise alone. Mt 6:1 4.
It is not time to advertise good works. Some places would seriously affect their collection off the public if they stopped bragging about what they did each year, but they need to stop.
15 When you pray, fast or give do it secretly. Mt 6:5 6.
There need to be more of this in 2010 if we are to make it through the coming years.
16 Don t use vain repetitions when praying. Mt 6:7 8, Mk 12:40.
We have to come up with new prayers, Spirit led prayers not the same old prayers all the time. Jesus told us not to do it.
17 Pray to God the Father. Mt 6:9, Jn 16:23 24.
We need to get to know God. He is the only one that can save us in years to come.
18 Don t be anxious. Mt 6:25 32, Lk 12:22 30, Jn14:1, 16:33.
We have to have faith in God no matter how bad things get and no matter what happens and how dark things get. We can’t trust in man, in riches in savings, we need to trust in God.
19 Store your riches in heaven not on earth. Mt 6:19 21, 33, Lk 12:21, 31 34, Jn 12:25.
Soon only the bank in heaven is going to count.
20 Judge not that you may not be judged. Mt 7:1 5, Lk 6:37, 41 42, Jn 7:24.
Scripture must be our only judge. We should walk by the Word of God not opinions.
