College consists of doing well in your courses. You have to set up a solid schedule that is flexible. For example, if you have a course at 11 AM and no classes afterward, then make sure you do that course s assignments within the next two hours so you will be available to enjoy the rest of the day.Make sure not to party too much. You have the rest of your life to enjoy the party scene and ignore the song by Asher Roth, I Love College. College is far from partying. You are paying for an education and hopefully a successful future. The parties are okay and maybe when you have your own apartment of your own, you can throw parties better than those dorm parties. Partying hard is not the way to go. There are only few people that can keep up with their grades and partying.
College consists of doing independent work. What I mean by that is you should be able to do your laundry and clean your room. The space you live in needs to be clean in order to be the perfect student. Make sure you keep to a certain schedule when it comes to doing laundry and cleaning your space. Make sure you choose your less eventful day, where you have one or two courses, and be sure to do your cleaning! It s better to be a failing neat freak rather than be a failing slob.
Basically, in college you need to be more organized with everything. Considering you re most likely going to have other roommates, you might want to organize your belongings. You do so because no one wants to room with a messy, unorganized person. You also do this just in case your roommate is a klepto. Yes, a klepto. You do not want your favorite top to go missing or for your roommate to be utilizing your hair products just because they scattered are on the counter.
In college, you want to be focused. Do not pay attention to the females or males. All they want to do is have intercourse. Do not expect a relationship to bloom between you and the other person. You want to concentrate on yourself and your grades.
If you re on a scholarship, don t mess up. Make sure you keep the GPA that is required. You do not want to end up on academic probation and then academic suspension. That would not be good. What you want to do is study, study, and party a bit. Balance it out. Just be lucky you received a scholarship. Most people can t say that they did. So just be grateful.
Make sure you create friends with the right people. The right people are the ones that are actually resourceful. They should be able to provide genuine happiness, money, and good advice. You want to receive reciprocal treatment so why not have a positive friend around you. Also you want to make these friends are on the same page as you. It is crucial that they don t always want to party or study. Hopefully, they ll be able to balance their life as well as you do.
Most of all, when you go on your month vacations such as Christmas vacation, make sure you release all your stress and frustration by partying and relaxing. Treat yourself to a spa day with the girls or fellas. Also take the opportunity to work. Getting money in college is a difficult task unless you have work study or you have very generous and well off parents/guardians. Make sure to reconnect with your high school comrades. Make sure to cherish your parents /guardian s company. They missed you so much and, after all, they are paying for your education.
