There are a number of different reasons why an individual may want to be able to recognize vitamin K foods and the types of foods that are most rich in this type of nutrients. One of the main reasons why they would want to do this is because they want to get more vitamin K into their diet naturally because it provides them with great health benefits in the form of blood clotting and bone building side effects. There may also be some people who are interested in knowing what vitamin K foods are available in order to avoid these types of nutrients, why would that be?

Although there are very few reasons why you would want to avoid vitamin K foods, one important reason would be if you were taking Coumadin. This is a blood regulator, and you would probably be surprised with the number of people who are taking Coumadin at any given time. It helps to keep the blood thin and if you are taking vitamin K, either naturally through the foods that you eat or in some supplementary form, you can actually reduce the benefits that you may be getting from taking Coumadin. A similar thing is also true with something that is known as warfarin which accomplishes the same basic thing but also helps you to avoid having a stroke.

Many people who want to get more of this vitamin into their diet will end up supplementing with a pill instead of simply eating additional vitamin K foods throughout the day. You might be surprised to learn, however, exactly how much vitamin K is in the world around us, especially in many of the greens that we eat. I m going to share with you a simple recipe that will help you to supercharge your vitamin K and to get more of the vitamin K foods into you in a healthy way.

I don t know many people that do not enjoy drinking a smoothie and at times, you may consider this to be somewhat of a treat. There s something that you can do with smoothies, however, that will make them so vitamin packed that they are absolutely one of the best things that you could possibly eat. I m talking about a green smoothie, which is basically just some fruit, water and a big handful of green, leafy vegetables. If you choose the right type of vegetables, kale for example, you are going to get a burst of vitamin K foods into your diet that will not only be easily digestible, it will be very delicious.

You can also eat a variety of other vitamin K foods regularly in your salads. Spinach, brussels sprouts, onions, dandelion greens and broccoli are all excellent sources of vitamin K and you can easily incorporate these into your daily diet in order to give yourself a boost. If your goal is to get more of this vitamin into you, make sure that you eat plenty of these delicious vegetables on a daily basis.
