One of the worst things in this world is to be told that you have cancer. It is almost as tough for the patient's family as it is for them. It is hard to imagine just what that is like if you have not been through it but more and more families have experienced this very thing as cancer continues to spread over the earth and take a hold of more and more lives.

The gamma camera is able to detect tumors in the dense breast tissue much quicker and at a much smaller size than the traditional mammogram machine can do. Because this is the case and it is comparable in price to the old way of detecting breast cancer, it is widely used. It is able to effectively fight breast cancer because of its wide acceptance among the medical field and the consumers as well.
The gamma camera was invented by a man named Hal Anger. The camera was often called the Anger camera, after Hal's last name in the early days if the camera. The camera was invented back in the lat 1950's and was widely accepted by the medical field. The camera is based in nuclear science. Hal was a well known nuclear scientist and understood how the science could be used in a tool to help the health care of the human body.
The camera has evolved over the years and has many different styles and version in use today. The most popular use is in the regular breast scans that are part of a doctors visit. By doing this, doctors are able to diagnose the presence of breast cancer much sooner and begin treatment right away.The best part of the gamma camera is the cost to the customer. It is much cheaper than the alternative if the MRI machine.
