Wholesale closeouts can be a great way to get a bargain when you are seeking a bulk purchase. In fact, many auction site sellers buy wholesale closeouts to retail through their sites. Getting a deal is always going to be in style, even if items like flip-flops and swimsuits are not in season.
Buying the clothes from the last season and selling them seems like a waste of time unless you consider that a smart shopper does exactly that: buy low and sell high. While it might be only selling higher and not at the full retail value, offering your customer the option to save 50 percent off a new watch or hat, might be incentive enough.
If you are like me, you are always looking for a good deal. What would you consider a good deal? What would make you buy something? I like saving money, and I am careful about how I spend it. I know people that go from fair to fair in the summer selling different items like painted T-shirts and energy drinks to make enough money to take care of their families for the rest of the year. Why do they do it? Well, classical fair behaviors have people looking for merchandise and driving a bargain. If you have purchased your inventory at the right, low price, you are able to make a deal that will still profit you and make your customer happy. How do you find bargain, wholesale closeouts?
Most wholesale closeouts are sold in large lots, like a truckload. Seriously where are most people going to keep a truckload of stuff? And more importantly, how are they going to get enough money to make a purchase that large? In smaller amounts of wholesale closeouts, a lot of items might be as small as a Gaylord or a pallet. A Gaylord is a box that measures approximately the dimensions of a pallet and provides stacking strength and durability. However, you have no guarantee that the items you are purchasing by the pallet are worth the price you are paying for them or even for certain what they are.
A good wholesale closeout will offer you the ability to inspect the merchandise at least partially before you purchase it. Making smaller purchases of one dozen items first allows you this flexibility, ensuring your ability to calculate the resale value and end price point. It is a good way to start a small, part time reselling business.
