There are tons and tons of ways to display photos digitally, but what about if you're the type of person who likes to see, touch, and feel your memories? You're not alone! Many people are feeling overwhelmed by the digital takeover of the photography industry: as convenient as it is, many long for the old days when memories didn't have to be "clicked on."

If you prefer hard-copy displays for your cherished memories, here are some fun ways to keep them visible each and every day.

Photo art

Let someone else do the special effects to create a real work of art out of one or more of your most beloved photos. Online photo art companies can really make some magic: taking photos and turning them into wall-sized high quality hangings that look as if they may have been painted by Andy Warhol or even Monet.

Whether your personal tastes are more Pop-Art or ultra-traditional, there is surely a design that will suit your decorating. Photo art is great for commemorating an anniversary, new baby arrival, family reunion, or anything other occasion that it is important in your life. Or you could just have one made for no occasion at all!

Calendars

These have been around for years, but they are still a great way to keep your favorite photographs close at hand all year long. Take 12 of your favorite pics to your local copy store and let them turn the images into a wall calendar. These personalized calendars are perennial favorites as grandparents' gifts, but really they are beloved by everyone who gets one.

Ancestry Corner

If you have a lot of old family photographs lying around loose, don't waste history! Select 20 or so of your favorites and have them enlarged to various sizes: 5x7, 8x10. 11x14, and so forth. Put them in mismatched frames to give the grouping an eclectic look, and then hang them all in a corner area of your living room or den: some on each wall on either side of the corner.

Before putting them up, make sure to make notations on the back of each frame indicating the person's name, their birth and death dates if possible, and how the person is related to the family. An ancestry corner makes a charming addition to any home and will help get your kids interested in their own genealogies and ancestors.

Displaying hard-copy photographs in new and interesting ways never goes out of style: so get those pictures out of boxes and start having some fun.
