If you are looking to change TV service providers right now, then you are not alone. Many people are changing providers of their service all the time for one reason or another. Whether you prefer Dish Network, DirectTV or Comcast right now, chances are that you will find yourself not preferring that service at some point or another.
The reasons vary from one person to another, but the facts are that most people change providers several times throughout their lives. In fact, some change their providers enough that they end up back with a provider that they had at one time or another.
It is a cycle for some that is all about getting the best deal. For others, the reason that this can happen is because they are following a certain sports team or channel and they will get it, no matter who has it.
Speaking of sports, there was an interesting conversation on the radio the other day about the PAC 20 conference looking to add a couple of teams. There has been much debate about who they may add and why.
A big part of the discussion was devoted to the TV market at each school that was being discussed. In fact, that seemed to be the largest factor in who they may choose.
One of the reasons this was the case is because the PAC 10 and other conferences have realized that the BIG 10 has made so much more money than the other conferences in the country because of their cable/satellite channel.
This then spurred a conversation about whether people would pay more money to get the channel for the PAC 10 to watch the games or if people were on the edge now and they would not buy into another channel. What is your thought on this?
Would you pay extra to see the conference? Are you paying extra now to see your conference channel, if they have one? The Mountain West conference learned that they simply lost some loyal fans when there was a big skirmish for several years.
The Mountain channel was only on one provider and people were so upset that instead of watching the football game on a Saturday, they simply did other things and began to not care about the football games. It seemed that they were paying as much as they were going to a TV provider and the button to raise the prices was pushed one too many times.
