It has been a year since my friend has smoked a regular cigarette since discovering electronic cigarettes. After trying everything to cease smoking, he was at wit's end. He was surfing the internet and found this new invention called electronic cigarettes. Many smokers are doubtful that they work. Are they really like real cigarettes? How do they work? Are they expensive?
Electronic cigarettes are very similar to regular cigarettes but without the tobacco. There are some other harmful additives that are left out too, such as tar, chemical additives and ingredients that may cause cancer or heart problems. The electronic cigarette has three main parts: battery, filter or cartridge and atomizer. The filter that looks like the butt of a cigarette contains nicotine and flavor. The battery ignites the atomizer and this produced the smoke-like vapor.
The vapor looks, taste and feels like smoke but without the hazards. When a smoker drags on the electronic cigarette, the tips lights up and turns red similar to a real cigarette. An LED light or sensor ignites the cigarettes. It gives it a red glow that resembles a lit cigarette. The vapor the smoker inhales hits the lungs like regular smoke and it disappears quickly. There is no way to offend anyone because it evaporates in seconds.
The cost of the electronic cigarettes is comparable to the price of regular cigarettes. A cartridge is equal to 20 cigarettes for about the same price a pack. There are some starter kits on the market that range from about $80. You will save money and it is safer than traditional cigarettes by far. There is no ash, smoke, odor, staining or discoloration of teeth.
The electronic cigarette is not perfect but the benefits outweigh the cons. The batteries are rechargeable and they need to be charged after about 500 puffs. If you compare that to traditional smoking, just say you smoke a pack a day, so after you get you fill for the day, just recharge the battery. It would equal out to around 500 puffs a day. Atomizer parts do wear out over time and will need to be replaced. The cost benefits are worth the switch. It is by far cheaper to buy refills than a pack of real cigarettes. So if you are still wondering, “Do electronic cigarettes work?” The reply is a resounding “Of course!” and they will work for you as well as my friend.
