Essentially, lucid dreaming is a skill which some people have developed which allows them to actually be aware of the fact that they're dreaming, and that things which appeared to be happening, are not. Furthermore, people who experience lucid dreams tend to have the ability to exercise a certain amount of control over a lucid dream.
Being in a position where you have full control over the direction of your dreams is something which nobody can truly imagine until they actually experience it. In fact, it is such an incredible feeling that one could almost say it comes straight out of a science fiction novel. All of a sudden it feels as though you no longer have any limits in your life.
But, is it really easy as it looks? Can everyone experience lucid dreaming and bring to life that which would otherwise seems difficult or impossible in reality?
The truth is; lucid dreaming is by no means a difficult task. In fact, if you are serious about learning, then there are various ways you can try which have been tried and tested.
The first thing you need to do is to become absolutely certain as to why you want to master the art of lucid dreaming. Do you imagine yourself having your own personal playground built from lucid dreams, or do you have another reason for wanting to learn and develop this skill? Your reason is not of particular importance, providing it is clear in your mind.
Once you're satisfied as to why you want to learn this skill, then it's time to start the actual learning process. The first process, largely referred to as "dream recall", requires you to remember your last dream. Essentially, if you cannot remember your dreams, it will be virtually impossible to reach the stage of lucid dreaming.
Irrespective of what others may have told you, this process can be painfully slow. It can however be achieved if you maintain a "dream recall register". Maintaining such a register will allow you to record as many details as possible with regards to your last dream. Providing you continue doing this you will with time come to realize that you are able to remember everything about a dream.
Hypnosis is also something which many people have found to have the ability of reducing the amount of time it takes to prepare ones subconscious in preparedness for lucid dreaming. In fact, in many instances, one or two sessions of hypnosis will be adequate for allowing you to remember your dreams consistently. When you reach that point, you know your mind has been suitably conditioned.
A phenomenon which you can expect to experience when in a lucid dream is to suddenly find yourself wide awake. However, considering that by now you will have gathered enough experience and developed enough skill, you will simply be able to go back to sleep and continue the dream where you left off. Of course, you'll once again have the power to direct the direction of that dream as you see fit.
And other top favorite between lucid dreamers, is going back to sleep for an hour or two once you wake up in the morning. This method is favored due to the dreams being incredibly close to lucid dreams. In fact, it is not uncommon to wake up after having one of them wondering if you were in fact dreaming or not. Waking up an hour to or two before your usual time can be taken care of simply by setting your alarm clock to go off at the desired time.
As far as this is concerned, you may find it extremely beneficial to keep track of your sleeping patterns in order to determine the best time for you to have a lucid dream.
Interestingly enough, lucid dreams also have the ability to help people overcome sleeping disorders such as insomnia. If you have difficulty falling asleep, you simply need to convince yourself that by falling asleep you'll be able to enjoy a lucid dream. In the vast majority of cases, your mind will take care of all the finer details.
Fortunately for those wanting to learn the art of lucid dreaming, the process has become a lot easier than it was in the not too distant past, thanks mainly to advances in sound technologies.
In fact, a great number of people are now using the binaural beats in order to experience lucid dreams in the shortest and quickest way possible.
Essentially, the reason why these audios are effective, is because they involve playing relaxing sounds to the listener using different frequencies for each ear. This results in a phenomenal amount of realization in addition to bringing the brain waves into the correct frequency necessary for lucid dreaming.
Prior to binaural beats becoming available, people had no option but to rely on hypnosis techniques but of course, learning such techniques can take many years and as a result many people simply never had the time.
When one listens to the sound waves of binaural beats, especially when combined with hypnosis, it is possible to experience lucid dreaming in a relatively short space of time.
