Submitting your application for jobs in the army might seem like a difficult and unapproachable task, but you will find from the outset that the process is painless and user friendly. There are certain criteria that need to be in place before attempting placement within jobs in the army.

* Minimum age requirement is 18, or 17 years of age provided parental consent is given.
* Certain physical requirements need to be met that are pre-determined by the branch of military you wish to enlist in. Generally speaking you should be the correct weight for your height, reasonably fit and able, and in a healthy condition.
* You need to be a US citizen or hold a green card to be able to apply for jobs in the army. There are special conditions for non-US citizens.
* You must be in possession of a high school diploma or similar alternative credential that is stipulated as acceptable. Although some divisions might accept lesser qualifications, most jobs in the army will not accept candidates who do not meet these requirements.
* When applying for jobs in the army there is certain paperwork required over and above your high school diploma, varying according to your position of choice. You might need things like: your birth certificate, driver's license, social security card, marriage license, passport or green card and in some cases legal records, resumes and or credit history reports.
* Compare the different options available to you according to your skills and capabilities. Prepare yourself before making your application so that you are fully aware of the job specific requirements for your position.
* Enlistments differ according to your chosen field.
* Jobs in the army can be split into active (full time) duty or reserve (part time) duty. Determine which direction you are headed before applying.

Once all the pieces are in place, it is wise to consult your recruiter. Recruiters are not there to force you into any position you don't want to be in, they are there to provide you with the best information pertaining to jobs in the army to help you make an educated decision. Aside from learning about the requirements for your potential job, make sure that you question the recruiter on available benefits, allowances and remuneration for your chosen position. From there, they will be able to guide you forward to obtaining one of many jobs in the army.
