The purse hanger is a neat little invention. It uses a simple idea and makes a functional tool that women can use to keep their purses off the floor at restaurants and off the kitchen counters at home. Germs are spread through purses and many women are unaware of these facts. A recent new report showed the women’s purses could carry millions of germs. So where do you put your purse when you are out at a club or a restaurant? With the purse hanger you can hang it right from the table or counter and keep it within your reach. Purse hangers costs between $12 and $20. If you don’t want to spend the money and you like to make crafts, you can make it yourself.
How to Make a Purse Hanger
To start you need to gather all the materials together. The materials you will need to make a simple purse hanger are: a sturdy metal hook, bonding glue, cutter, file, pliers and a small circular mirror (with metal border) to use as the head of the purse hanger. If want something fancy, you can go with animal prints and clear crystals.
Now you have to shape the metal and bend it to form a hook. It has to have a wide table clearance or the space between the two ends of the hook should be wide enough to fit any table. A standard purse hook available in the market has a table clearance of about 1.5 to 2 inches. A purse hanger may not be used for hanging from tables that have 2.5-inch thickness.
The glue should be used to secure the circular mirror at one end of the hook. Make sure that it is not loose where it will fall off while trying to hang the purse. Smooth the ends of the hook with the file and this completes making your purse hanger hook. To make sure that it is functional, secure the purse hook and hang your purse. You can adjust the shape of the hook if needed to make it more secure.
Since you have created your own purse hangers, you may want to give some away. These nifty little gadgets can be reused again and again. Women love accessories and they can also serve as a purse clip or bracelets. It depends on the design. Why not be creative and also make a gift that will not go unused?
