As the world grows more aware of the state of our planet and the environment, more green products are being created to help save the planet as they say. It is everywhere. Companies are working on ways to “reduce their carbon footprint”. People are becoming more Eco-friendly. What does all of it mean? Even though the world is working to become more environmental friendly, businesses as seen this as a way to earn more “green” or make more money.
The demand for more green products is up. But it is still hard to find a reasonably priced alternative to some everyday items. If you are lucky even to find one and you like it, it is probably a little more expensive than a regular product. The companies make money this way. When consumers find alternatives and companies can produce more green products, the price will drop. For now, it has become a trend to buy that energy saving light bulb or those recycled greeting cards. There are new products in development everyday that is more efficient and healthier. There are new energy efficient light bulbs, fuel re-formulators to help reduce emissions in your car, or an electric wind turbine for your home. The public only cares if it is energy-efficient or recyclable and they buy it.
Solar panels have been around for years but now there are more in demand because they are environmentally friendly and energy efficient. The initial cost is outrageous to have these panels installed on your home. Overall, they will save you money and reduce the use of fossil fuels. It can be expensive to be green and companies are making a profit.
You also must be aware of how these products are manufactured. Manufacturing companies have been known to do the most damage to the ozone layer and the environment. They had caused damage to natural resources such as land. It helps to research the companies that are promising green products. It is not always about saving the environment. It may come down to making some green-cash money. There has never been a more opportune time to produce green products than now. When the former vice-president brought to the attention of our nation what our planet will look like for our future generations, many people began to think differently. Many companies began to think profit.
It is the right thing to do and is politically correct. So what will the next craze be? Who knows?
