There's really nothing quite like paintball if you're looking for a good time and you're looking to engage in some safe field of battle combat. In order to take on paintball you'll need some fundamentals like a paintball gun and ammo. Those are the essentials but you'll need some more gear if you want to avoid any type of injury. No doubt about it, paintball is safe but it can also be dangerous if you're not careful out there. Paintballs are relatively harmless until they hit you in the eye and that's why you need to wear protective gear over your eyes. Wearing the right gear while playing paintball will almost assure that you won't get hurt and you'll still get to feel the adrenaline rush and exhilaration of the sport without the fear of getting badly hurt. Below is a list of essentials for the sport of paintball.
Paintball Mask.If you're sensitive to getting hit in the face it would definitely be a good idea to wear a mask to avoid getting hit in the face by a paintball which actually does sting quite a bit. A good portion of injuries on paintball fields occur because someone got hit in the face with a paintball. Don't let that be you. Wear a mnask. No sport is fun when you come home with a welt the size of your thumb on your face.
Paintball Goggles. You're a fool if you play paintball and you don't wear something to protect your eyes. Most serious injuries in paintball involve the eyes but most paintball fields now require you to wear protective equipment over your eyes to reduce their liability.Another concern for your eyes is paint splashing intop your eyes from popping paintballs. Most paint used in non-toxic but can still burn and irritate your eyes like no other. A good pair of goggles will take care of that.
Paintball marker. A paintball gun is necessary to play paintball and in paintball they are referred to as markers. If you want to give yourself an advantage on the paintball battleground you can do so by upgrading your paintball gun. A paintball marker that is faster and more accurate will make you a better player. Paintball guns come in all manner of shapes and varities and they all come with their different strengths and weaknesses. It's a good idea to rent a paintball gun your first time out so you can see for yourself how they work and whether or not you like paintball enough to buy a paintball gun.
Paintballs. The ammunition in paintball are little round paintballs that are designed to break when they hit almost anything. You lose a lot of accuracy with your paintball gun if the paintballs you use are not the right size for your marker so make sure you buy the right size. Hopper. In paintball the hopper is the thing that you load your paintballs into. This is the thing that holds your paintballs and you want one that will be easy to load paintballs into. Some of the faster paintballs guns will require the use of an electronic hopper and you should consider that if upgrading to a faster paintball gun.
Air. Paintball guns use air to fire paintballs when you pull on the trigger. You have a couple of choices when it comes to air. Nitrogen and C02 are your choices in paintball.Most folks used C02 in paintball because it's a lot cheaper then nitrogen but nitrogen perfoms a lot better.
Equipment And Other equipment. If you buy your own paintball gun then I highly recommend buying the oil and squeegee required to maintain and keep your gun in top operating condition. Nothing gives you a bigger advantage on the paintball playing field then a high quality paintball gun in good operating condition. And depending on how crazy you plan on getting on the paintball playing area you may want to consider buying some knee and elbow pads. If you're going to be diving and crawling around on the ground you may as well be comfortable right? If you can you'll want to have something that will allow you to hold additional paintballs . Rationing paintballs is a horrible way to spend the afternoon so make sure it doesn't happen to you.
Paintball is extremely unique and almost no sport comes close to it. Renting all of your paintball equipment is a good idea if you're new to paintball as it can save you a lot of cash. Checking ahead with your local paintball facility to assure that they have all the equipment you need is a great idea. Paintball is a lot of fun.
