Very few that smoke for a long term of over 6 months will have a hard time smoking, but not because of what the main stream media and pharmaceutical companies tell you, but rather something that real scientist have known for a long time, so why have they not come up with a real solution as of yet?
First, let’s look at why real solutions have not arrived on the scene. Our government does not want you to quit smoking. Yes, I said that right, they want you smoking, as does the tobacco industry and the pharmaceutical companies and the three combined works in unison to keep people smoking while trying to appear to want you to stop.
Tobacco legislation never bans tobacco cigarettes or cigars and never does anything to put the big tobacco companies on the line. They target flavors, that has no proof that it influences the youth to smoke, just as berry flavored wines do not entice them to drink. But having tobacco cigarettes on the market creates another market a few years down the road.
Smoking cessation products are a huge seller once the effects of smoking start to appear and smokers start looking to quit. The smoking cessation market is a 2.3 billion a year industry in the U.S. alone, so the pharmaceutical companies want a low success rate of around 5% success, so they try different products as each one fails for the majority of smokers.
The federal government makes an average of $2.33 per pack of tobacco cigarettes sold in the U.S. and this makes billions for the government, so this is the reason that that they all work together to keep people smoking while trying to look like they are really concerned. The whole problem could be cut in half according to some studies, but this would cut the tobacco industry in half, the pharmaceutical cessation profits in half, and the governments take in half. This does not count state and local taxes.
Now for some surprising facts. Nicotine withdrawals only last 3 days at the most, and you have beat the addiction, so why are the pharmaceutical companies protecting nicotine products and keeping them from the public unless they deliver them? They lobbied for laws that attempted to classify nicotine as a drug, and then claim that NTR (nicotine replacement therapy) was the best way to quit, but only pharmaceutical companies get approved for them even though the FDA even as they are now sold over the counter. This protects the products from an open market and protects their profits.
Now to the studies that I told you about earlier. There was a study, sponsored by the government of South Africa that showed that 45% of people who used the electronic cigarette quit smoking over an 8 week period. There is no other product on earth with a record like that, bar none! So why such a high success rate?
The act of smoking and everything that goes with it is what is the hardest to break. A smoker will make sure they have their cigarettes and lighter with them even if they are going to a store that does not allow smoking in it and if there is no smoking allowed in the car. Just as long as they have it with them. Doctors will tell you that someone who loses a limb or appendage that they continue to try and use it even though it is gone for years after and are frustrated when they reach for something with something that they no longer have.
The habit of smoking is much the same when it comes to how the mind operates with people who have lost limbs. The act of lighting, smoking, seeing the smoke come out, the feel of the smoke in their throat and lungs and even making sure they never go anywhere without the pack and lighter.
This is what makes the electronic cigarette so successful. They get to keep the habit of “smoking” without 4,000 chemicals. So in a sense, you are not quitting, but just changing the amount of dangerous substances that are put into the body.
The South Africa study also showed a great improvement in appearance, lung action and other effects that were better after removing the combusted materials that were introduced into their bodies on a daily basis.
Maybe it is time that you take a hard and long look at the evidence and make a decision for yourself about what is reality and what is fantasy concerning smoking and tobacco issues and how they really operate and even further, why things are as they are now.
