Drinking in moderation is probably the best advice one could give a person for avoiding a hangover the next morning. There are some remedies that people swear by that can help you heal the day after a night out drinking. There are some simple homemade recipes that can alleviate some of the ailments that come with drinking too much.
You can try drinking fruit juice the morning after. Fruit juices contain a large dose of vitamins and nutrients that help replenish your energy and remove alcohol toxins from your body quickly. It has a form of sugar in it called fructose that helps to get rid that remaining alcohol in your system. A big glass of apple or tomato juice can help flush out your system and help you to recover. You should avoid orange juice if you have a sensitive system because it has more acidity to it. Non-acidic juices will work better for you. Honey also contains fructose and it can help when taken with hot water and lemon. Eating some crackers may help to calm the stomach. Many people have tried this remedy to prevent hangovers. The liquid help to hydrate the body’s loss of fluids and it stop the alcohol levels to change, which could cause headaches.
Drinking alcohol can dehydrate your system so if you can remember to drink lots of water before bed and when you wake up, this can soothe the discomfort that dehydration can cause. Eating eggs can help the body break down any toxins that is received from the alcohol. Eggs have cysteine in them and this breaks down acetaldehyde, a toxin that can cause hangovers. Eggs can also energize you in the morning after having some breakfast.
Potassium is also lost during the dehydration alcohol causes. You need to restore your body’s potassium supply after drinking and broth, homemade soup or bananas can help to do this. Bananas contain high levels of potassium and the broth helps to replace salt and potassium. The broth should be made with bouillon cubes. Kiwi fruit juice and a sports drink can help to replace the nutrients that the body has lost after drinking alcohol.
Ginger has been recommended for use to prevent a hangover because it is close to being seasick. Ginger tea or ginger tea with orange juice has been known to calm hangovers. Some are effective and some maybe more of a myth. You can see what works for you but remember to always drink in moderation.
