All of these new mobile phones are adding to a huge environmental problem. Over time, as we dispose of the old handsets into the rubbish heap we are creating an enormous mobile phone mountain. One that is filled with essential elements that could be reused, plus, in certain cases, possibly potentially hazardous metals in the form of mercury in the batteries.
This is an environmental disaster waiting to happen. Just thank goodness the batteries are dead and they are not all going to start ringing at once!
Joking aside, it is very vital that once we have replaced a mobile phone, instead of just throwing the old handset out with the weekly rubbish we should instead look into ways that we can recycle phones as a long term alternative.
There are lots of websites set up just for this purpose, unlike any other electronic product that I am aware of. This is no doubt because there are so numerous old handsets being replaced, their value to recyclers and the fact that they can be easily returned.
But of all of the dozens of recycling websites, which do you go to? Well, a few enterprising souls have set up mobile mobile recycling comparison sites. Forget insurance comparison sites, these sites actually want to find people to give you cash!
You can use these sites to quickly and safely search the plethora of recycling websites that are about and find in seconds which one will pay you the most. There is no need to go to each in turn, type in your make and handset and see what they offer you, just one call to one web site does it all. And that visit may even save you from missing a important operator that will offer you twice as much as the rest.
This is not uncommon. I tried getting a price for my own handset and the top price on offer was almost double the next best cost. It definitely would be worth while recycling with the best payer, given that they are actually offering round 25% of what the handset price us new! Astonishing!
And do not worry if your phone mobile handset is a little worn or broken. Just tell them how bad the damage is and they can still give you a cost. Although it does not work at all there may still be some value left in recycling the old mobile phone that you are round to drop into the bin.
So, instead of adding to the electronic mountain of old phone phones, do you bit for the environment and earn yourself a little extra spending cash this week. Have a look at the prices available and send your old mobile mobile off to be recycled.
