In the field of computer based training, digital signage has been used to develop training that takes places in various locations in a training center and remote locations. Monitors can be located in the training area or elsewhere and content is sent to each monitor that can be controlled separately. This allows students to progress at their own speed and not have to wait on the rest of the class to catch up. An instructor finds that the applications used in digital signage to be amazing and somewhat thought provoking. For administering a test on a computer, the instructor can manipulate the tasks or freeze the monitors where each station has to handle each problem separately. When the problem has been fixed, the student can go on to the next lesson or watch a training video while the remainder of the class works on the problem. The instructor can monitor each student’s progress from a central station.
Since computers have been made to fit on a desktop the possibilities have become innumerable. Training videos are a part of basic training since they were first created. Before videos, closed circuit televisions were used. Images used by trainers and now by digital signage solutions have brought this logical conclusion that it is effective when attempting to get a message to the public. Employees no longer have to leave their workstations for training to go to a classroom. There is no need for rewinding tapes or waiting to progress because of slower employees. Major savings are a valuable part of the system and makes up for the initial cost.
Computer based training today is used for the most critical areas that involve training on the computers themselves. Certified IT technicians are in demand and digital signage solutions allow for the training of many professional IT personnel. By being able to control a computer from a remote location makes it a valuable tool for hands on training and computer trouble shooting. Advancements have been made in this area and more in the near future. The advantage of having the capability to change a program or task and require quick thinking is in valuable. Computer problems and hardware errors are unpredictable and many situations don’t arise in the classroom. This technology can make some of the most rare occasions arise and can ensure that a student will be just as effective outside the classroom. Digital signage and computer-based training compliment each other and work well when used together.
