Once in a while, everyone needs to lie back and relax. Just to snooze and take a relaxation in sweet calm. Have a massage, get pleasure from one's time. The West Bohemian Spa Triangle is a ideal location for the rebirth of your soul and body.

The long-subsided volcanic activity on the periphery of the Slavkov Forest was accompanied by the birth of mineral springs that have made the district of West Bohemia famous all-around the earth. Although Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad) , founded by the recognized Czech ruler Charles IV, is the most outstanding spa city here, there are several other no less marvelous spa towns in the area that are particularly popular with both visitors with some health problems and travelers. Though the positive outcomes of the regional springs had evidently become recognized in as early as the 10th century, spas did not in fact blossom until a lot later, in the nineteenth century. At the same time, Frantiskovy Lazne was designed at the very end of the eighteenth century, followed by the establishment of Marianske Lazne, therefore completing the "Spa Triangle". Domestic and overseas visitors alike have been approaching to enjoy the regional mineral springs for hundreds of years; the visitors' book of the spa resorts take in the names of royals such as the English ruler Edward VII, Napoleon III, recognized composers such as Fryderyk Chopin and Richard Wagner, writers such as Johann W. Goethe, Mark Twain and Franz Kafka, or for illustration the esteemed Moravian-born creator of psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud. Although there is much more. You can too get pleasure from the rich cultural program, go for cycling, mountain climbing and visiting the attractions trips, play tennis as well as golf, ride a horse, try water sports in summer & cross-country skiing during winter.

Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad / Karlsbad)

Carlsbad is the best notorious spa town located in West Bohemia. It was established around 1350 by the Holy Roman Emperor & King of Bohemia, Charles IV. Its distinguished roads & colonnades are surrounded by calm wooded hills crisscrossed by mountaineering and biking paths that are ideal for lovely walks all year round.
A busy cultural events calendar, numerous festivals & international conferences put up Karlovy Vary the leading & liveliest spa town in the Czech Republic visited not only by the spa-guests but also celebs. Karlovy Vary achieved its fame also thanks to its well-known herbal liqueur known Becherovka (nicknamed "The 13th Spring"), Mattoni mineral water, unique spa wafers, and Moser crystal glass.
The curing mineral water from the springs in the valley of the Tepla River have been used by public from time immemorial - both for consuming as well as bathing.

Marianske Lazne (Marienbad)

The city of Marienbad locates in a magnificent wide valley in West Bohemia, 628 meters above sea level. An approximately twenty km wide strip of forest with many mountaineering trails passes right through the spa town.
Marienbad enjoys an outstanding status around the world both for its medical treatment methods and efficient natural curative sources, as well as for its charming, delightful view. Almost 100 old springs have been discovered in and around the town, all with great concentration of CO2. Some were revealed as early as in the 16th century.
A real gem among the neighboring neoclassical buildings is the spa town colonnade built in 1889. The spa region is dominated by the so-called 'Singing Fountain' entertaining the passers-by with melody and light performances.
Marienbad (Marianske Lazne) launched its first spa season in 1808, but quickly grew to become a admired resort amongst Europe's elite. Among its customers had been English Ruler Edward VII., Polish composer & pianist Fryderyk Chopin and German bard Goethe.
The area spas focus in treating musculoskeletal problems, & diseases of the urinary tract, kidney and gynecological problems. The therapies are based on natural resources - cold ferrite acidulous water, natural gas, CO2 and mud.

Frantiskovy Lazne (Franzienbad)

Franzienbad (Frantiskovy Lazne), founded in 1793, is a worldwide known spa city located in the western part of the Czech Republic. Thanks to its neoclassical spa buildings & pavilions the township preserved the rare atmosphere of the early twentieth century & is regarded as one of the most picturesque spa cities in the state.
The region provides mild local climate, clean air & quiet town life. Various parks all-around the city with its promenades & musicians are a ideal place for calming walks. All these issues add to the healing effects of the local mineral springs that each year draw many spa-guests.
