For the third consecutive year, DVS Shoes and the Copenhagen Skatepark have teamed up to produce one of Europe’s fastest growing event events-the CPH Pro. Boasting one of the largest prize purses in Europe, this year’s contest is set to take place in June.
Once again the best professional skateboarders from around the globe will converge on Copenhagen, Denmark for a weekend of heated pro competition on an all original course-great food, free beer, and tons of good times. Keep the date!
TransWorld Skateboarding held its initial once a year Skate & Create contest. In a nutshell, the event consists of 4 teams of 4 pros, one am, a photographer, a videographer, and an art director. Each team is locked in a warehouse for nine days with a smorgasbord of ramps, rails, banks, and boxes. The team that can come up with the most inventive set concept, skate obstacles, camera work, skateboarding, and video wins.
All teams involved produced incredible video clips and brilliant photos, however following the judging was said and completed it was DVS that emerged as the winner.
In honor of its accomplishments, DVS has launched a Mini-Website to display its contest video, a behind-the-scenes video, point and shoot photographs, as well as brief interviews with the innovative minds behind the project.
23-year-old Andrew Brophy has been riding for DVS worldwide for some years now, but the six-foot-four man-child has gotten so damn good at skate boarding that we determined to pull him from the outback of Australia and place him on as a full blown domestic US professional. Now all we have to do is get him a Travel permit so he doesn't get deported back to the bush.
