So where do you buy domain names online?
Think of a unique domain name. A lot of the good ones are already taken. You may end up using a longer name because your original name isn't available. This is actually the hardest part.
When you buy a domain name, what you are really buying is the right to use a series of numbers called an IP address. This IP address is basically the whereabouts of your information on the internet. A hosting centre stores the space and it can be free through Go Daddy if you advertise their website on your domain. Prices can range from fairly inexpensive (think five dollars a year) to not too expensive (around ten or eleven dollars a year for the .coms . net and .org sites, they are the most popular).
Once you have decided on your domain name, go to Go Daddy and follow the usually simple instructions. Remember, all you've done is buy a domain name, not space to store your actual content. That is called hosting and is a different thing altogether.
It is also recommended that you should check the technical and customer support that your chosen provider offers. It must adhere to all the time zones so that you can contact them as you should expect round the clock support.
Security is a critical decision so adequate attention must be paid to the same. See to it that your selected provider offers appropriate domain privacy, and that all your website information is adequately secure against any spam or fraudulent activity.
