The first years of our life are totally determined by one thing: Playing. Of course it is not a waste of time; it is a very important educational element and necessary part of our growth process. But there are different ways of playing and there are toys that make somehow more sense to educate our offsprings than others.
All this is the field of research I am into, but in this article I will mainly focus on dolls as typical toy for our youngsters and all the extras like buggies (German: Puppenwagen) for them. The concept of a buggy was developed in Germany to some extend and Germany is one of the countries with the biggest percentage of children having Puppenwagen. Thus in this article I try to summarize the German idea why your youngsters should get a Puppenwagen.
Dolls are pretty common for children. With this most parents might agree, but to support the looking after a doll idea to such a great extend that they will put extra money in the life of the doll will often not be discussed at all. But at least one should think about all the possible educational benefits a Puppenwagen could have for a child. It might not be easy to see the point why there might be any reason to buy a Puppenwagen. But I will briefly try to motivate some thoughts about it.
A puppet buggy will give your youngsters an idea how much effort it actually takes to look after a child and that it also requires many other stuff like a Puppenwagen for example. Of course in the end you will not have to buy anything possible in puppet size, but it might be good to give your children at least an idea that there might be things you have to buy for your children. If they want to have more things for their puppets you might just answer: You are right. Actually a child would need that, but a puppet might be happier with a bit less equipment. But later on you will surely have to buy this for your real children.
More than 50 percent of the children want to have more extra things for their dolls. This shows that they do not want something directly for themselves but for something they just look after. If one thinks about this idea it is a very important step in the development of a child. And this step should maybe be supported. There is maybe no need of buying a Puppenwagen but in general one must be aware of the fact that this developmental step of our children is important and has to be supported in some way.
