There are a bewildering variety of badminton sets available to buy online, whether you're looking for a set for fun or a set for serious competition. Some sets are cheap and others are expensive, but you can't tell by looking at the picture if you will be purchasing a high-quality set or a poorly-made one. And no matter what your budget it you want to make sure that the rackets are going to fall apart or the net collapse right in the middle of your very first game. Here are a few things you can look for to make sure you get a set that meets your needs.

The Net And Poles - Look for a set that has sturdy metal poles, usually made of aluminum. Aluminum poles are surprisingly light in weight, but they are stronger and will last a lot longer than PVC poles. { If you try to save money by buying a set that has PVC poles you're just going to end up spending the money you saved on duct tape to help support those flimsy poles.
|PVC poles may be cheaper, but you have to add in the expense of the duct tape that you will have to buy to reinforce these weak poles.}

Easy To Set Up - Since most people are buying badminton sets for their own entertainment you'll want to look for one that's easy to set up and doesn't require a lot of staking and stringing. { If it takes longer than 5 or 6 minutes to set up the net, you'll be bored with it before you're even ready to play.
|If you have to spend ten or fifteen minutes setting up the net, you'll be tired before it's up and everyone else will have gone to do something else.}

Third, the rackets: You're pretty much limited to the rackets that come with the badminton set, unless you buy extra rackets separately. For entertainment purposes, the rackets don't have to be high quality and you just have to resign yourself to the fact that you may have to replace them someday. And if you find you'd like to upgrade to a better quality racquet then you'll always have the cheaper ones that came with your set for the beginning players in your group.
