My good lady has always complained to me that I’m a ache in the back, but until fairly recently it almost seemed as though she was correct. Increasingly she seemed to find her back was stiff and achy, particularly after having spent 7 or 8 hours with me. It got to the point where she was finding it difficult to bend down to put her shoes on, and kept wincing. We decided that there was a fair likelihood it wasn’t actually me though, and that our fairly old and somewhat tired bed might have something to do with it.
We tried several things to see if it would have any effect. We knew it was almost certainly the mattress, so the first thing we tried was stuffing pillows and towels under the mattress to improve support. No good. Then we tried adding pillows down the centre of the bed for her to lie against. No good. I was completely convinced, and even if it hadn’t been for my wife's bad back I’d have been pretty convinced for myself too. After all, who wouldn’t like to enjoy better sleep? I had been browsing a company’s website that seemed to offer everything I could want - a large range of sizes and styles, but just as I was about to pay I noticed that they were based in the North-Midlands area. Nonetheless, I then noticed that they were offering free postage and packing, and so needing no additional persuasion, released the moths from my wallet and paid.
In no time at all the new mattress was delivered to my door, and my initial reaction was that this was certainly unlike any mattress I had ever seen before. In fact, I wasn’t quite sure what to think, and wondered whether it really would provide the support and comfort I’d anticipated. I unpacked it, placed it on the bed, and lay down. Wow! It just took a few minutes and I found myself relaxing and really not wanting to move.
Obviously with anything like this you need to give it time to truly test it, but inside a week it was more than evident that the Tempur mattress was making a big difference. My wife felt that her back was ten times more comfortable, and in the mornings she was no longer hobbling about similar to a ninety year old (after all, she’s just 89!) In fact, we both felt more comfortable as well as we were both sleeping much better.
I’m almost shocked to think that I nearly didn’t purchase the mattress now, just because the company was based in Manchester, but as one of the leading UK Tempur stockists, it was no problem at all.
