Scrolling LED Badges have been around for awhile now. LED Scrolling Badges are a great product for calling attention to yourself at an event, in a store, especially at a trade show or at a convention. However, they are now better scrolling ID badges than ever before! A client called the other day just for the purpose of relating the story of how they discovered a new use for scrolling badges as an ID badge as well as a scrolling message badge!
This particular customer belongs to a contract sales group for a major phone company selling Cable TV type services, telephone and high speed Internet directly to the public. This customer had been having problems having their representatives verify they were actually working for this phone company. Of course, when someone actually called the phone company office, the people there had no idea whether or not the rep was legit, or even what contractor he was with or if he had been sent to the that person‘s house for a legitimate purpose or not.
So our scrolling badge client turned his scrolling badges into actual scrolling ID badges. He simply put the scrolling badge just above the rep's photo ID badge with the following message : "Hi, I'm Mark with ABC Phone Co. at 5554345 Badge 656." He set up each rep's badge similarly. Then when a customer of his wanted to check on this rep, he called the local number and the rep was quickly identified!
Then he thought of even putting the information on the contractor's website so that when the person whose home they are contacting wants to verify the rep was sent to his home all he has to do is type in the rep ID Badge number and a picture of the badge the person is looking at on the rep comes up on the screen. Now they can be verified even on a cell phone and even when the contractor's office is closed. So what used to be only a cool scrolling message badges, and a bright scrolling LED badge is now also a creative new scrolling ID badge, all in one!
Yes, we gave a nice discount to our scrolling ID badge client as he placed a sizable order for scrolling badges for all of his reps. Yes, the same information could be given to the homeowner by the rep verbally, if the homeowner would listen, but our client says the badge conveys a subtle almost subliminal message to the homeowner that reassures and answers a question which usually never actually got asked in the first place! How do I know you are legit? He says his sales are up 15% using the same reps and the same presentation since introducing the scrolling ID badges!
