Tips of Easing Anxiety During Flight

Going for holiday in overseas is always fun to look forward to; planning the holidays, searching for places to go, research for hotel deals and the destination near the hotel etc. One of the things that most people do not look forward too is the flight.

If you are to take long haul flight, you might imagine it to be very tiring, sitting in a very packed chair (if you were in economy) and wish that technology will create a more express plane soon.

However, in this article, I will give you tips that will make your flying more fun and also for those who have flight fear, these tips might ease your anxiety.

1. Wear comfortable cloth, not a tight one, it will relax you deeply. For women, do not wear makeup during the flight or bring makeup removal and remove it during the flight. In that way, your face will fell more fresh rather than oily or dry. However, use enough moisturizer in your face and hand as the air in the flight is very dry.

2. Every plane should have pillows. In the case that you are not given the pillows, ask for it and put one on your lower back, it will ease the discomfort of seating for a long period of time in the plane. If you want to be more comfortable, buy neck pillows which specially design to be used on the flight to make the sleeping more comfortable.

3. Bring eye pads such as cucumber or aloe-vera so that you can put it on your eyes. Using eye pad can bring you the feeling of relaxation and make you feel fresher. You can also bring eye drop to moisture your eyes during flight.

4. Always take confectionary with you during your flight. Confectionary such as sweet, chewing gum, chocolate etc will do amazing job during the different air pressure and ease the flight anxiousness.

5. Bring biscuits and water in the case that you get hungry and dehydrated during the flight. Of course, you can also ask the stewardess for it, but it will be more convenient if you were to bring a bit yourself.

6. There is good sleep mask sold in the market that has aromatherapy that can ease anxiety, create relaxation and making you more comfy. If you have flight fear or just want to relax, it is suggested that you bring the sleep mask during your long haul flight.

7. Do stretches on hands and leg during the flight and stand from time to time or walk for a few minutes. It will sure make you feel better for a long haul flight.

8. Massage your face with your hand will east the discomfort on short of long flight. The massage is done by rubbing the palms of your hands together; when you feel warmer in your hand then place the hand on your face. The warm sensation will give you soothing and relaxation feeling. To maximise the relaxation during your massage, close your eyes and inhale the air with your nose, feel your breathe go into your body, hold for a few second and then exhale it through your mouth.

9. If you have a fear of flying, try to use meditation method. Use full concentrate on exhaling and inhaling your breath, so that you will not even notice the take-off and landing of the plane.

10. Listen to music in the in-flight entertainment. If you like, you can record your own favourite song in your IPod and listen to them during the journey. It will make your flight journey to be better.

11. Book might help you to forget the fact that you are in the plane and forget the time. Choose really interesting books and bring it to flight.

Hopefully all the tips above will make your trip more enjoyable. Remember to always to switch off your mobile phone before going on the plane. If you need to make call, wait until you reach the hotel and make the international call using phone card or calling card to get a cheaper rate.
