Rope Hammock Tips
Tips on Taking Care of Your Hammock
Protect your hammock from harmful elements and do not leave your them outside all year round. The UV sun’s rays, rain and snow will make the rope hammock fibers deteriorate and it can fade the color in cloth hammocks. Instead, bring inside your hammock when you are finished lounging.
Follow the cleaning instructions of the manufacturer. Generally, hand washing in gentle cleaning solution of water and mild soap is all that is needed. Do not use harsh cleaners or bleach on the ropes, which can affect their structural reliability. You may also wax the wooden spreader to keep them from water damage.
Make sure the hammock totally dries before storing it. Mold literally feeds on the rope fibers of several hammocks or you can find opening in the cloth of your hammock bounded by mold stains that is subsequent with the time you want to use it. Storing the hammock even if it is faintly damp may encourage mold growth, so ensure your hammock is very dry before storing it.
Fold your hammock properly. Follow the storing directions of the manufacturer. If there are no indicated storage instructions on the hammock manual, then make sure to tie the arms of your hammock to prevent tangling. Then fold it neatly.
Hang the hammock from a looped rope over the hanging hardware. Keep your hammock off the hanging hardware to help eliminate friction because this can cause the rope on the rope hammock to fall off.
And of course, avoid putting more weight than it could handle, or it will break. Some hammocks are fit for one person only. Others could hold two or three persons.
