Link bait is actually a blog post with a link of course that is designed or written to draw people's attention to it. The end result is almost always to make bloggers click on that link and this can significantly increase traffic.
Link baiting is legal and not banned by search engines. Although there could be a negative connotation to the term, there is nothing wrong doing it. Today I would like to share with you these link baiting tips to multiply site traffic.
Debunking Myths
Myths can get significant attention People love reading myths but what stirs people even more is if the myth is completely demystified. Choose a common and widely known "myth topic" to discuss about. Explain to them what the myth is all about and draw your readers into reading them and slowly unravel the truth about these myths Explain reasons that would open their eyes to see why the truth has alluded them. If your myth is a very popular myth and you write a good post around that, a lot of visitors and bloggers will love it and will add trackbacks around your post. They might even quote you for writing that article. Thus more more links back to you!
Review Products
Product reviews can also be good link baits. It is even better if you are ahead of the pack and the first one to give that review. People generally would want to read reviews before purchasing a product, so there is always going to be reviews to critic that product. If you are in that position, seize the opportunity to write a s detailed post that makes your article the best review. If you can do that, the search engines will love that, add your article to the search listings and you will get good traffic coming to your website.
Organize Interviews
Interviews are great especially if you manage to interview an authority figure and post the contents of the interview on your blog. People would love to hear expert opinions on a particular subject and word of mouth will get more people coming to your site to read that interview. It is best to list down important discussions of your interviews to add more value to your post.
"How To Tips" or "To Do Lists"
We've seen heaps of such articles around the internet and this is not just restricted to blog articles. Sometimes it can be difficult to write an article starting along those lines and get good traffic if there are a lot of competitors for the keywords in your title posts. It doesn't matter what kind of articles are written because if it is well written people will still come to read it providing prior keyword research has been done adequately You can also choose to write smaller articles of a post relating to these theme. This allows you to write more articles in succession which are related to one another.
Disucss and Debate
As a blogger, you don't necessarily have to write articles all the time. It is more interactive to get your readers involved. You can put up a few paragraphs of an article about a rhetorical question related to your blog and ask for comments. The comments section then becomes very important as it becomes the focus of discussion. You can ask questions that will get different opinions from various readers and you can jump into the discussion as well. You have to be careful since touchy or controversial discussions can build unnecessary arguments or tension between readers. When this happens, it is your responsibility to diffuse the tension and moderate comments.
Rants and Being Passionate
Sometimes you might feel very edgy about something on any day and discussing it on your blog. Ranting and speaking your mind out can get attention from bloggers. An element of controversy can add more fuel to the discussion. This can get a lot of people to respond to your post. Some may sympathize with you while some may stir you up even more. Be careful not to hurt your reputation in the process of doing this.
