In order to keep in with the fitness madness in our society, people are now resorting to various means to lose weight. Though a lot has started to hit the gyms, while others prefer to go under surgical knives, there is still a part of the market that desires to attain weight loss, but has not enough time and finances to support the pre-requisites of the process. For this class, the most convenient option for them to lose those unwanted weight is through fasting.

However, suppressing one’s appetite is not really a safe option to lose weight. According to doctors and psychologists, people who opted for controlled eating are prone to dehydration, ulcer, Anorexia nervosa and Bulimia. Despite the continuous warning from health experts, appetite control is still a popular choice due to its convenience and omnipresent availability. Also, according to fitness gurus, the maximum weight one should only lose using this method should only be three pounds a month, except if the individual is doing exercise, have underwent liposuction and other special treatments that would help them lose weight. Though simple and easy it may seem, abstinence to food is not as safe as it looks.

Instead of complete starvation, health experts have suggested some alternative methods which should also not require exercises, but should be effective when followed.

The fastest of all the suggested appetite suspending option is the cleansing diet. In this program, the participant is required to drink at least a glass of water every hour, the more glasses of water, the better for the body. No solid food intake is required for this program to absolutely take effect. But for those who are just new to the program or having a hard time to the change into zero solid food diet, thin soups and brown breads may be taken on limited quantities.

A less drastic way of suppressing appetite is to drink water and juices during lunch and dinner periods. In this diet, it is highly recommendable to take a proportional amount of fruits and vegetables. The rest of the day, water and juices shall be taken in order to zero the appetite. However, one must not drink juice when he/she is still hungry so as to prevent acidity issues with the dieter’s system.
