Afford solar systems can be a difficult thing to find. However, if you are like most of us and on a very tight budget you are going to be working very hard to find the best and most affordable solar system. When pricing the commercially available systems though you will quickly realize that they are very expensive and could even discourage you from this form of power for your home. However, to find a highly affordable solar system you will want to consider building your own. Here are a couple of a reasons why you will want to do this.
1. Home built systems are typically low cost
From what I have seen is that if you are looking at the cost per panel it can be a tremendously amount cheaper when you consider that it can cost a fortune in panels. The cost of a home built panel though can be fairly cheap and might cost you under two hundred dollars depending on the guidebook that you are using.
2. Start Saving Quickly
Using a home build and affordable solar system you can typically start saving money quickly. Instead of having to wait and make an appointment for the salesman and the installers it will all depend on the pace that you are willing to work at and how quickly the guidebook teaches you to build the panels. Granted it will take you some time though in getting your entire home up to par rather than one day, but you will be doing it at your pace.
Finding affordable solar systems can be a difficult thing to do. The one type though that you can find as the most cost efficient is going to be one that you build on your own.
Solar power is being used in a wide variety of applications to power many different things today and doing so very effectively. There are many different types of solar power systems being put into use to produce this free energy, but they are not all created equal. These alternative energy systems range from very simple to extremely complex and prices range from cheap to very expensive so knowing what one you need is important before you buy.
Common Solar Systems
Portable Solar System: The portable solar unit is very poplar amongst campers and recreational vehicle users. It allows electricity to be produced in the middle of nowhere and is mainly used to power small lights or appliances like a toaster. These units consist of a small solar panel, a battery and an inverter to change the 12 volts into 120 volts. Theses small systems will not support much so some people opt for additional units.
Grid tie In Systems: For people who do not want to rely on solar power exclusively but still want to save money and produce free energy these are the right systems. A grid tie in system will use the solar power for items that draw less power like lights and small appliances and rely on power from the electric company for things like washer, dryer or central air. These systems are still very basic with just a small bank of solar panels, inverter to convert voltage and battery back ups. If your goal is to rely solely exclusively on solar energy these are not the systems for you.
Stand Alone Solar System: A stand alone unit is for the person who has decided to be self sufficient in energy production. Although they function like normal solar systems these large units often have doubles of key components like inverter and batteries to be used if part of the system breaks or needs maintenance. These systems are not that commonly seen due to price and you almost never see them in urban areas they are instead used more in very remote areas of the world where getting electricity from a grid is impossible.
The uses for solar power are endless and new technologies are being implemented everyday. But even as new technology advances you still need to get the right system for your application. The wrong system could either cost you to much money or not give you enough power!
