If you'll be visiting a country where Spanish is spoken, it's a good idea to learn the local dialect to you'll be able to communicate better. And what's more important, a tutor can help you understand informal meanings of certain words. Books and CDs tend to be very formal in their language teaching. But a tutor can teach you the slang words.|Keeping some patience in mind will help. It will take longer than 24 hours to become fluent in Spanish. Even if you had all the vocabulary and verbs remembered, your sentence structure may need a little work. You will only slow your progress if you put a lot of pressure on your self to get fluent fast. Just let your self take it slowly. If you do this you'll find you're more comfortable with Spanish. It's also good to learn slowly is because people will have more patience with you if they know you're trying to learn their language. If you try to learn too fast and become over-confident, you run the risk of accidentally offending a person in a conversation if you make a mistake.|Get a course on CD. CD courses are terrific for those who feel a bit shy about new languages. You will be able to listen to someone pronounce the words and use them in sentences. You'll find the CD courses are equal in quality as a classroom, yet there's no stress about making mistakes in front of everyone. And with a CD, you'll be able to practice Spanish if you're traveling, etc. You'll be able to listen to them on a CD player, or you can also download them to an MP3 player and take them anywhere. You're not tied to one location to learn.} {Whenever you can, start to think in Spanish rather than your native language. You have to use an internal translation process, where you take your thoughts from one language and put them into the new one. Take your time and learn how to do this at your own pace. Anytime you find yourself thinking something, simply try to construct the same words using Spanish. This is an ability you will improve at the more you practice it. As you practice, you will notice that you can translate words faster. There will come a point when this will become automatic, and you'll think in Spanish without trying. Of course, you also want to say some of these thoughts out loud, so your ability to speak improves as well.
