The age of a house and the upkeep is another thing to consider when buying a home and if it is a good investment. If a house has not been cared for properly over the years, it can have many problems and you will have to decide if it is worth your while to update and repair these problems. Although buying a home that is newer can save you from having to do so many repairs and invest more money the older homes listed on the market have character that is not available in many newer homes these days. Lastly, the most important thing you need to do before you begin looking for a new home is to talk to mortgage lender or you bank and get pre approved!
