We all know numerous information in relation to the diamonds. There are 2 types of them, really - the precious stones and those that are used in different industries, briefly - manufacturing ones. First types are luxurious, whilst the other ones can be found in practically everybody's toolbox in a garage - they are used for cutting glass, as a file abrasive material and so on and so forth.
When we talk diamonds, not surprisingly, we visualize precious stones firstly. The image of a diamond (or a brilliant) appears almost instantaneously - in a gold ring, pendant or earrings. Now, the nature spent thousands and thousands of years to create diamonds that we all admire… That is maybe one of the most mystifying things in relation to the diamonds as such (well, apart of their importance in terms of the money, evidently).
Before present times, natura diamonds were the only ones out there on the market - if you were going for a genuine diamond ring or any different piece of jewelry with the precious stone, you had no alternative really. But, thanks to the technological progress of the present time, you can now have the benefit of the freedom of choice with the diamonds also.
That is right - at this time mankind can create man made diamonds in the matter of days. And, that is even more extraordinary than the production time, these man-made diamonds are absolutely the similar as their natural "counterparts". Dazzling, isn't it? No more hunt for the precious stone for your budget through dozens of jewelers, no more waiting untill the stones be in stock. There is, nonetheless, a caveat to the promise. The lab grown diamonds are formed with the use of the tremendously high heat and force. While lab grown precious stones, as those precious stones are known (short for laboratory grown diamonds) are chemically, physically and optically equal to natural diamonds at 100%, the colorless version - the one we are most familiar with and hunt for, has its mass limitations. You are greatly unlikely to attain colorless man-made diamonds that are bigger than a one qualrter of a carat. In all likelihood they will be even smaller…
The colorful ones are a another case. Their color varies, but the most known one is bright yellow or cognac - colored. Other colors started showing recently. Vivid yellow precious stones are created in bigger dimensions, and seeing them at sizings varying among 1.00 and 1.75 Carat is not uncommon. Still, the manufacturing is rather an pricey process, so a very insignificant figure of specialized producers are in this commerce, as the initial investments into the production technological part are rather big. In contrast, however, to natural, mined, bright yellow precious stones they are a bargain when compared on an apple to apple basis…
One of the other names for labgrown precious stones is non conflict diamonds. By default, production of such diamonds is ethical, as it is not associated to any wars or human victims (nothing like the natural blood diamonds that cost thousand of people lives in Africa). Therefore, with choosing such moral diamonds for your jewelry not only lets you save, but additionally allows to save real people lives by boycotting the blood diamonds spreading.
Some jewelry design companies even take an extra step - with the sale of every "non conflict" diamond, they give money to clear land mine fields (the terrifying echo of wars indeed) in Africa. This kind of activity is made through the worldwide organizations, so the consumers of Igloo diamonds, for example, even get a certificate, with the map of the field that was cleared out following a precious stone purchase. So, blood-free precious stones can actually make our world a much better place. With a little help from people, obviously.
