Enthusiasm is the true overall deciding factor in a student’s preference of a major. Being passionate about a line of work or subject of study is what will truly benefit a undergraduate today and in their later years. In my particular case, the major that will mainly help me, is teaching. I personally am enormously passionate about education; I know that in my future becoming a teacher will honestly make me happy. Teaching enlightens the young and old, inspires pupils to become more than they might ever fantasize, and constitutes the future of the world.
“Upon the education of the people of this country, the fate of this country depends.”- Benjamin Disraeli. A professor establishes the future of humanity, by educating the young and old. An Educator is continuously making the earth a improved place by instilling information of the past and present and in turn inspires students to make the earth a better place. In every class there is the chance to encourage the next Bill Gates, Martin Luther King Jr., or Stephen Hawking. What inspires me to educate is the expression on a persons face when what I am explaining becomes obvious, that look of enlightenment fills me with pleasure and pride. That look is what will drive me now and as I embark on my career as a professor, and for a lot of years subsequent to that. A teacher also inspires pupils to carry on their educational career by getting them interested in university and majors, which fits their desired goals and career choice.
The field of teaching has no confines. Becoming a teacher can take a person anywhere that individual chooses, from becoming a teacher a person can rise from the kindergarten field to middle school to high school or even a college professor. Next that a person can rise to administration or maybe the board of education. All of this depends on a person’s own purpose.
Secondly, becoming a teacher is not a position that is projected to vanish, education is consistently evolving, and standards of education are always being raised. Young and old look to instructors to expand their knowledge and this profession will never become old, worthless or unfulfilling. Personally I can not wait to begin my career as a kindergarten teacher and inspire the children of the future.
