One trip to your local store will tell you that aromatherapy and scented candles are costly. Why not try making scented candles at home? It's a fantastic way to save money and it helps you make beautiful candles in your favorite fragrances. To top it off, the majority of the things that you need to create beautiful candles are found right in your own kitchen!

You will probably be surprised at the many different ways on how you can produce homemade scented candles. It's very possible to make gorgeous candles while saving money in the long run; this is one of the biggest reasons the popularity of making scented candles is skyrocketing, and why more and more people are turning into this profitable venture. -- you can always open a candle shop and feature fantastic candles for a fraction of the cost. Creating candles for pleasure is not only pleasurable, it can also mean profits for you!

Getting started in this amazing craft is so simple, anyone can do it. The fantastic thing about candle-making is that all you'll ever need are your materials and a dose of resourcefulness and you're good to go! If you don't like what you first produced, you can melt the wax down and start over anytime you wish. The thing that I absolutely love about candles is that they make great gifts, can add a touch of warmth and elegance to any room, and provide much-needed relaxation to your body and soul.

Here are the easy steps involved in candle making:

First, you need to make sure that you have all the materials handy. Remember that the amount of scent, color and wax that you would need would largely depend on the quantity of candles you want to make. Here's a tip to help you determine the quantity of wax to put -- a pound of wax is capable of giving you around 8 candles. One wonderful tip for the essential oil is to add just a teaspoonful for every pound of wax you use. Don't think twice about experimenting! You can always play around with how many or how much ingredients you add into the wax to capture the consistency and scent that you like

• Wick
• Candle wax
• Coloring
• Essential oil or scent
• Thermometer (used for candy or meat)
• Double broilers
• Candle mold

Feel free to modify the ingredients. Remeber that it all relies upon on what kind of candles you want to craft.

Let's start!

1. Pour the wax in a small pot that is in a larger pot that is partly filled with water. Heat the stove to a low heat to ensure that the wax doesn't burn. Next, using your thermometer let the wax rise to about 170-180 degrees Fahrenheit. Never let the wax overheat, and remember, it burns pretty easily.

2. Put the candle molds in a sturday and flat surface. But before you do, make sure that your wicks are in your work area. Take off the pot from the stove as soon as the wax melts. Next, put the essential oil and dye When adding the dye, its best to use a dropper as this will allow you to have better manage of the shade of your candle.

3. Now you can put the wicks in the candle mold or jar. Be sure that the wick is placed in the middle of the jar. Let the wax harden for about 3 to 5 minutes.

4. Once the wick is set, you can immediately pour the remaining wax. Take off the candle from its mold the moment it hardens. Don't do this if you are creating jar candles.

There you have it! Making scented candles is a snap, it's super simple to get started, and it's a pleasurable and satisfying hobby. Have fun!
