Where did you get the idea that you need to pay 5 dollars just to have a nice aromatherapy and colored candle when you can easily learn the fun craft of candle making, at home! Creating your own candles at home can prove to be an interesting and fun hobby, whether you want to make some for pleasure or give them as great gifts to those you love. Candle making is a fantastic hobby for you to make sure that you get candles just the way you like it -- with the ideal blend of scent and color. In addition, it's a great way for you to increase your resourcefulness!

Making homemade candles usually calls for a bit of effort and experimentation, but once you determine how to make them the right way, its well worth the exertion! When I started out creating my own candles, it was at the onset of the Yankee Candle explosion. I am one of those who find the aroma of commercially-available candles overpowering and highly perfumed. Still, I don't wish to purchase those dull and uninteresting white candles. This has led me to go on a quest and I began experimenting on my own kitchen. It has been my dream to make the perfect batch of candles -- relaxing, relaxing, colorful and mildly-fragranced! As I experimented more, the more I became addicted to this amazing craft.

Here are the top 3 reasons why candle making is turning out to be a very popular hobby:

1. One of the things I love about making candles is that's very cost-effective. You won't be required to buy a whole lot of equipment to get started. You just need a heat source (your stove will do), something to melt your wax in, some wicks, wax, aroma and colour are all you'll ever need! If you are ready to take things to the next level, you can buy a candle mold at a store. It can prove to be a helpful tool, but it's really not necessary.

2. The great thing about creating your own candles is that you can personalize them in any way. When you shop for candles, you'll find that you're normally stuck with only a single colour for a particular scent. For instance, coffee and cinnamon smells might be brown while ocean scents may be blue and melon might be green. What if you especially like flower scents don't particularly like the color pink? If you plan to purchase your candles from the store then you are out of luck! On the other hand, if you make your own candles, you can make your lavender perfumed candles red and your melon candles purple, and choose colours that will be a nice complement to your home décor.

3. Now you have a license to experiment and play around! Go wild and change up the shapes, colours, sizes and scents. Even if you mess up, you can always redo your candles by remelting the wax and starting with a fresh batch..

There are many hobbies out there that presents an opportunity for you to boost your imagination, but so far, making homemade candles is the best since you can experiment and improvise as you get better. You need not follow a rigid formula or pattern that needs to be watched. It's this simple -- you just need a dose of fragrance and color and a sprinkling of imagination, and you're good to go!
