If you use a personal computer which has the Windows operating system installed on it, then you already have Internet Explorer as a default browser. This makes it one of the most widely used browser's available. In this article we will learn how to securely delete all of the files which can compromise your security.
The first thing you need to do is open up Internet Explorer. If you will look at the top of the browser you will see a text link labeled as Tools. You will want to click this link which will open a drop-down menu. Scroll down to the bottom of this menu and select Internet Options.
Selecting Internet Options should make a box pop up. If you look at the top row of tabs on this box you will notice one says General. If it is not already selected please do so. Look carefully and you will see a button called Delete located midpoint of the box. Go ahead and click it.
If you want to preserve your Internet favorites, you'll need to select the first option box labeled Preserve Favorites if you want to keep your favorite sites. If you don't, this information will be deleted also.
To clear your past browsing history, select Temporary Internet Files, Cookies and History. These are the minimum you should select if your want to keep your privacy. Someone can look at your cookies and help where you have been, that is why it is important to delete them.
You will notice there is an option to save or delete your saved passwords. If you want your passwords to be deleted with everything else select this box, if not leave it alone. Now that all your decisions have been made, press that bottom Delete button. Now you are done!
