At any given time of any marriage there is always a time of assessment. The only way to deal with interferences of mother-in-laws and friends is to simply put a stop to it, issue an ultimatum for the sake of the marriage. Unwillingness to make the ultimatum will be seen by the partner that there was no real commitment made.
