Outdoor activities in the snow are extremely fun. There is hiking, camping, sleighing, skiing, and Heliskiing. This activity has become extremely popular among more experienced skiers who want more of a challenge from the slopes. When you go to a slope built and kept by a ski resort you are not able to get that great experience of adventure. The area usually very populated, and many of the skiers are inexperienced which makes it dangerous. People usually lose control or do not know the proper rules and edict and accidents tend to happen. That is why the more accomplished and experience skiers prefer to Heliski. This means they are put into a helicopter and flown to a remote area where they can ski with little to no outside interference. The terrain is more beautiful, the descent is much better, and you get the feeling of truly being one with nature. The majority of business for ski resorts are families and people who wish to learn to ski. That is why they have to make sure their slopes are as safe as possible, and easily accessible by emergency help should and accident occur.

Heliskiing allows the skier to go to a remote area away from beginners and high traffic. One of the areas this has become most poplar in is small resorts in Canada. Heli-Skiing Canada is a great opportunity for people to visit places without a high number of resorts, towns, and other developments. Heli-Skiing Canada also is a great way to vacation because it is very affordable and more accommodating than some other areas where skiing is more central. Areas in Canada focus more on camping and hiking rather than vacation attractions so the slopes are better for Heliski. You need a helicopter to reach these areas because hiking would take too long and create too many problems. Hiking in such terrain would require a lot of special gear, gear you can not use when you go skiing. So what would you do with the gear? You can not leave it at the top of the mountain or slope, but it is too cumbersome to carry while you are skiing. That’s why going by helicopter is really the only option to safely and quickly get to the top. Remember, this is for serious skiers who have years of experience. The terrain is much more dangerous and you are not anywhere near medical assistance if a problem should occur.
