Many people dye their hair to change their look or cover up those annoying gray hairs that keep popping up out of nowhere. Dyed hair can look and feel great but too much exposure to these harsh chemicals can dry out hair and cause it to become unhealthy and brittle. The most common complaints heard are split ends and frizzy hair. The following tips on how to retain moisture for dyed hair provide natural ways to keep hair in tip-top shape and looking great.

Dying your hair takes away a lot of the ability that your hair and scalp have of producing the natural moisturizers that your body produces. It is a trade off, you get the hair color that you desire, but you turn your head into a dry well. Even if the hair product comes with moisturizers, they are usually not enough to keep your hair moist between treatments.

You can spend a fortune on hair moisturizers that are specifically meant to keep your hair moisturized, or you can go the more economic route and use natural moisturizers that will work just as well. You are going to be surprised to find out that many of the items are right in your home and will cost you less than 10% of what some of the other moisturizers are going to run you from specialty hair salons. Safflower oil is a perfect example of just that.

A few drops of safflower oil every day and your hair will be as good as new. By working it slowly into the hair and scalp, you can bring it back to life to what it looked like long before the hair dye was ever needed. This is something that can be readily found at the supermarket and in many organic hair care products.

Jojoba oil is something else that you can use either on your own or that you will want to see featured in organic hair care products. This oil is loaded with fatty acids that your hair and scalp will love for nourishment. This is something that has been lauded for quite some time and is quickly becoming a must have ingredient.

If you are using jojoba oil on its own, you can just add it to your regular conditioner and you should be all set. There are also plenty of products on the market that you can find that will have this ingredient. Makes sure you check out the labels to see that this is included and your hair will thank you for it.

There are lots of other natural and organic solutions to this problem. Products that feature olive oil, wheat germ oil, almond oil and rosemary oil are all things that can help you bring your hair back to life. As we said, you can use organic hair care products that use these ingredients or you can simply add some of these products to your regular conditioner.

One final note to consider is that whatever goes in your body has to come out in one way or another. That being the case, you need to make sure that your diet is healthy so that the food items that you eat will keep both your skin and hair moisturized. If you are eating an unhealthy diet and dying your hair, you are just asking for something that will resemble Carrot Top.
