Holiday extra is a British company which was started by Gerry pack for online hotel booking and car parking in airports. In its 27 years of dedicated service the holiday extras has won several awards to its credit.
In the year 2009 this company launched an award ceremony voted exclusively by the customers. It was named Holiday Extras Customer’s Awards. This year (2010) the ceremony was celebrated in a bigger and better fashion in The Nash and Brandon rooms, Carlton House Terrace, London
Awards were aplenty and here is the brief about some of the prestigious awards and the companies which bagged these coveted prizes.
The Best Airline Award went to the Irish carrier Aer Lingus. It is one of the Europe’s best airline services to date.
Virgin Atlantic got The Best Airline Cabin Crew award. Its 25th anniversary slogan Still Red Hot for 25 Years proves its merit. This airline has a customer focussed service much to the delight of the commoners.
Travelling by air doesn’t always burn a hole in our pockets. A testament to this is the easy jet Airlines and the award The Best Airline for Value for money rightly goes to this customer’s, pocket friendly airline.
The Best Airport award goes to Belfast International Airport whose history dates back to almost a century. A refurbishing job is going on after which the airport will reach a notch above the ordinary.
Live to eat is today’s mantra so though there was competition in this field, Gatwick Courtyard by Marriott swiped the award for the Best Airport Hotel.
Similar awards were won in many such categories and in this year’s Holiday Extras Customer Awards 2010 a new award named Travel Personality of The Year was given. This award went to Julia Bradbury a television reporter who travelled several times through holiday extras.
Every nominated company has a good service history. The only thing which prevents them from being the winner is the customer’s delight. The nominated companies have had customer satisfaction but were not lucky enough to receive their delight. But every company which participated gained something. They found out what they lacked in order to be the winner which will be of great use for them to keep improving themselves.
These awards and this ceremony has a strong fundamental purpose which is to encourage the best in the meanwhile give a status of the companies about the position they are in the travel sector from customer’ point of view. This ceremony is different from other awards in the way that it is fully a consumer oriented award and so the companies get to know what really the customer needs and expects of them. Thus the companies try to give better service and give the customers a surprise delight each time they travel with them.
