Maybe you are one of those people who like to annually host a Christmas party and are looking for some different ideas to spice things up a bit. Or perhaps you are hosting your very first Christmas party and want to do everything in your power to make sure that it is a success. Either way, there are plenty of ideas out there to make sure your Christmas party is a memorable one. Let’s check out some examples of ideas that you can use to have your party brimming with Christmas spirit.
For starters, you may want to look into having it at a specific location. If you choose to go this route, you may be able to have many of your needs catered to you. This can be expensive though, so you may want to just host the party yourself. Go out of your way with decorations, you want to make sure that the room positively oozes with the spirit of Christmas. Next up you will want to plan what type of food that you will have. Obviously you will want something that can feed a large group of people without having to worry about running out. Meat, cheese, vegetable, and sandwich trays are a great way to go. There is almost certainly something there that will please just about anyone.
Now comes time for selecting the music and setting the mood. If possible, and if your party is a larger affair, hire a d jay and your music problems will be solved. If the party is a smaller affair, simply setting up a CD player that has a good amount of disc changers to pump out continuous classical Christmas jingles, standard party songs, current hits, or a mixture of all the above will keep your party goers tapping their toes.
For some added fun, why not make it a costume party and let the guests have a bit of fun getting dressed up. At the very least a good costume makes for a great conversation starter, and besides that people just generally seem to enjoy getting dressed up. Something else that everyone enjoys is free stuff. Simple ideas such as passing out Santa hats to everyone who enters the party to giving each guest a gift such as a themed ornament as they exit are great party morale boosters.
A few ideas to make things less ordinary would be to plan an activity as a group. Going to the theater to check out a new holiday themed movie together is an excellent idea. If you are attending the late showing why not meet for cocktails before the show, then back to your house after for a traditional Christmas dessert of milk and cookies to review the movie. Another great idea is to collectively get together to do something good for the community. Volunteer at a soup kitchen or church sponsored Christmas meal program. Why not make crafts for a Christmas church bizarre or bake cookies to bring to a nursing home or to deliver to a home bound neighbor. Any of these ideas will surely bring out the Christmas spirit in everyone.
