Pregnant woman can often suffer from acne. One of the main issues that many of them will have is that they are unable to take medication for this because it is unsafe to do this whilst pregnant. There are many other alternative ways to help treat it but if you are pregnant and suffering from acne you must make sure that you consult a physician before using any other alternative methods.

It's been estimated that about 50% of women will suffer from acne during their adult lives. It is very common for women during pregnancy to have frequent breakouts. On the other hand some women who sometimes suffer from acne in their life's when they are expecting. Every person of course is different and some will experience this very mild and some will have very high outbreaks.

I'm sure you are probably aware already that this is due to hormone's changing and mainly affects women in the first trimester. During the pregnancy as your estrogen levels begin to increase the acne can start to disappear completely. It's quite difficult to try and work out who will actually suffer from pregnancy acne. But, there are some suggestions that many people that suffer from this may have previously had this in their lives or sometimes make it a slight touch of this before their periods.

How to control it

It's important that you hold off buying any type of over-the-counter medication during this time and you should definitely not purchase any type of treatment until you speak to your physician. They will be able to give you advice and help point you in the right direction for any way to resolve the problem.

There are many natural skin care products in the marketplace today anyway and you may want to look at an oil free mild cleanser. It's important that you take your time and do not over clean your skin because this can have the effect of stripping your skin which means your pores will start to produce more oil which will then become more irritating and possibly affect you even more.

You need to make sure after you clean your skin that you reach your face to really using lukewarm water. Ensure that you remove all soap residue and use a towel to gently pat your skin dry. There are many oil free moisturizers also available in the marketplace and you will be able to get advice on this in your local pharmacy.

Many people suggest that you should drink lots of water which will help keep your skin hydrated. It's important to have a nice level of intake because if you overdo this you will simply spend more time in the bathroom. You should definitely avoid touching any of your pimples because by doing this you may spread the bacteria which will unfortunately give you more pimples.

You'll come across many different natural products available it's important that you do not use any medications as we have said already you need to consult with your physician before doing this. It's always possible to see cute voice of others who may have suffered the same as you. Hopefully once you have gone past the first trimester these issues should be resolved and you can go back to your natural ways.
