Some little known contributors for getting taller, or not, are sleeping habits, proteins, exercise, posture, carbohydrates and fats.

Just as there are many significant things a body can do to get taller naturally, there are also significant factors that can actually stunt your ability to get taller.

If your purpose is to get taller, it is a must you overcome the obstacles standing in your way.

1. FATS

Believe it not, fat has a profound affect when it comes to increasing height.

Some fats are necessary for the body to function properly. Most of these fats can be obtained naturally from nuts and fruits such as avocados. Some of these oils will actually help you lose weight, which will help you to grow taller.

To many fats or fats of the wrong kind, most of us eat way too many of the wrong fats, will hinder your plans to become taller.

Some of the wrong kinds of fats, saturated fats, are found in your favorite ice cream, cakes, cookies, and the steak you eat. Basically all dairy products consist of the wrong kinds of fats. At best they hinder your efforts to get taller and at worst are unhealthy. Can you say heart attack, stroke and obesity?

2. CARBOHYDATES

One of the biggest contributors to hindering becoming taller is carbohydrates. Over consumption of this enemy to overall good health will also impede any effort to increase height.

As an example, the Asian culture are much shorter than their western cousins because they subsist primarily on a diet high in carbohydrates.

Just in case you do not know, carbohydrates are instant sugar and are found in cereals, breads, rice, and potatoes. This of course a lot to do with how these products are processed or not and how they are cooked.

They are also known for being high in calories and as you know, calories leads to weight gain and weight gain is an enemy to height increase. Not only does it look bad and make you look shorter, it also has compressing effect on the spine, making your shorter over time.

3. POSTURE

It is a given, folks with poor posture are shorter than they need be. Having correct posture is necessary to increasing height naturally.

If the neck and back are not kept straight and aligned you will be competing with any efforts you make to grow taller.

If you have ever seen a person with really bad posture, hunched back, rounded shoulders and stooped over you will have to admit they are much shorter than if they were properly postured.

Keeping the spine properly aligned during the night and day will work toward reaching the desired effect of increased height.

4. EXERCISE

As mentioned above the body is an incredible machine, a machine that was created to work. If you want the body to function properly it must be worked. In the absence of natural work, we must create work, i.e. exercise.

The benefits of exercise are many. It helps to keep the body aligned for proper posture and it also triggers a thing known as HGH or Human Growth Hormone to be released. A hormone that is responsible for getting taller.

Exercises focused on stretching increases cartilage and counteracts on the effects of gravity, natures enemy to getting taller.

Exercise also helps to speed up metabolism for better weight control and helps the body to properly use all of that nutritious food you are eating to get taller.

5. PROTEIN

Protein is a major building block for the body. The body will utilize larges amounts of protein when growing. It is impossible for the body to get taller without it.

Having too little protein in your diet is as detrimental to getting taller as is too much fats and carbohydrates.

Protein is essential to the bodies assimilation of amino acids. The Human Growth Hormone is made up amino acids.

The proper diet will include plenty of foods rich in protein. Protein can be found in nuts and legumes, much more so than commonly believed. Obviously dairy and meats are rich in proteins, but these should be eaten sparingly for overall good health.

6. SLEEP

As important as your diet is to getting taller, so is sleep. It is necessary to get 8 hours or more sleep every night.

Sleep helps to counteract the effects of gravity upon the spine throughout they day. It allows the spine to decompress as you lay flat on your bed on firm mattress. As you sleep your spine stretches back out and you increase your height naturally all while you sleep.

Sleep also allows the body to use the Human Growth Hormone to build and rebuild bones, muscles and tissue. If you sleep in not sufficient this hormone cannot do the work it is meant to.

Each of these culprits to increase height can hold back the desired height gain by several inches. Making simple changes to your lifestyle can do wonders for getting taller.

Remember, nothing of value or real use comes easily. Disciplining yourself in making these changes can cause some remarkable results in the form of getting as much as three to four inches taller in just as few as eight weeks.
