Wondering if your Ex is still in love with you is in one of three contexts - wishful thinking, historical perspective if you are glad it is over, or prerequisite to an action plan to get him/her back. Asking the question may sound like someone might have been asleep at the wheel or uninvolved much of the time. In truth, nonetheless, it is certainly a healthy question regardless of the state of your relationship.
You should be reminded that the word ‘still’ does suggest that he/she did love you at some point. This is not a semantic distinction but a valid question - was he/she ever in love with you? The other bit of meaning that can be assumed from the title of this article really does sound like the question is being asked by someone who desperately wants the answer to be ‘Yes’. We are assuming, therefore, that this is a question being posed by someone wants it to be so.
It seems obvious that the only way to learn the truth is clearly to ask your Ex. Prior to posing that question, however, you should prepare yourself for the follow-on question - does he/she - assuming an affirmative response - want to attempt to do something about it? Numerous couples whose relationship was on the ropes, and was ultimately salvaged, have acknowledged that they knew their love was stronger than one mistake or indiscretion. So, there is at least one perspective on the outcome of a positive response if and when you chose to ask your Ex the all-important question: “Well, do you?”
So there can be no lack of preparation for this eventual question, you should ponder the possibility of an answer in the negative. There can only be one outcome of a negative answer to this question and that is whether or not he/she is willing to try again.
If you get a ‘Yes’ answer you may, indeed, be able to salvage your relationship. If that chance exists - no matter how slight - the two of you should face it together. Put as much into fixing it as you did creating it.
